About Me

Specialty Orientation and Training:

After 15 years as a part of top management in various marketing consulting firms, I continued my interest in people by pursuing my doctoral degree in psychology, graduating with a specialization in clinical health psychology.  In addition to a staff position as a licensed psychologist at Boston Behavioral Medicine in Brookline: bostonbmed.com , I maintain a private practice in Wellesley, Massachusetts within walking distance of Wellesley College and the commuter rail service.  I am also one of the founders and Director of Training at the New England Center for Couples and Families, www.newenglandcouplesandfamilies.com.

My experience includes a focus on family and couples therapy, as well as working with individuals and familes coping with the challenge of chronic and terminal illness. My training encompasses a speciality in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, one of the few emphirically validated, short-term couple modalities. In recent studies this method has demonstrated success in approximately 75% of couples. I have also completed training in EMDR I and II, Year I of Internal Family Systems and often utilize a combination of mind/body techniques such as hypnosis, mindfulness and CBT to complement my therapeutic approach to anxiety, mood disorders and symptoms that often find their basis in trauma.

I am a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and have offered groups and workshops on topics of holistic behavioral medicine such as Reiki I, the practice of meditation and spirituality and couples and parenting groups. I hold a doctorate in health psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and am also a Reiki Master/Teacher.
